CAMP OSITO D. BAHIAN, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon -Another three members of the CPP-NPA Terrorist in Bukidnon surrendered to the Army Battalion under the 403rd Infantry Brigade on Saturday, December 23, 2018.
The three CPP-NPA terrorists surrendered one (1) AK47, one (1) Homemade Shotgun and one (1)Homemade UZI after succumbing to hardships, and false promises of the CPP-NPA leaders. They want to avail of the Enhanced- Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) being offered by the government which was disseminated by Community Support Teams of the 8 th Infantry Battalion.
These surrenders came as a result of the relentless operations launched by the Army in identified areas frequented by the CPP-NPA Terrorists in the boundary of Agusan del Sur and Bukidnon.
It can be recalled that on December 12 and 13, Army Scout Rangers seized two NPA hideouts after a series of encounters against CPP-NPA Terrorists and seized one (1) Generator Set, one (1) multi- purpose hall with two (2) kitchens, several personal belongings and subversive documents in the mountainous boundaries of Agusan Del Sur and Bukidnon. These individuals who surrendered confirmed that the seized hideout is being prepared as the venue of SRC 1 for 50 th Anniversary of the CPP-NPA Terrorists.
“The former rebels revealed the pressure they felt due to the continuous military operation that prompted them to lay down their arms and return to the folds of the law. They want to avail of the E-
CLIP and use the government assistance to live a normal and peaceful life with their families.” LTC RONALD M ILLANA, Commanding Officer, 8 th Infantry Battalion said.
COL EDGARDO DE LEON, Commander of the 403rd Infantry Brigade, called upon other NPA members to join their enlightened colleagues to avoid getting injured during combat encounters.The 403rd Infantry Brigade will not stop in its offensive military operations.
“Once again, I call upon the other NPA members to come down now and restore the protection of International Humanitarian Law (IHL). I know that you are tired and that you miss your families. We are here to help you. The government prepared livelihood and cash assistance, including housing benefits. Otherwise, you will have to face the consequences, as we are non-stop in our military operations. We will hunt you down.”
