Thousand Negrenses rally to show support for government’s anti-insurgency drive

CAMP MONTELIBANO, Bacolod City – More than 1000 Negrenses from all walks of life gathered at old city hall in Bacolod City to hold a rally in support to the recent simultaneous search and seizure operation of the government forces against the front leaders and members of the CPP-NPA Terrorist in Negros Island on Monday Afternoon, November 04, 2019.

The protesters who came from different areas in Bacolod City and neighboring cities and municipalities were carrying placards printed with words of support to the recent anti-insurgency operation of the government.

The said operation led to the arrest of 45 individuals, rescue of 12 minors and seizure of several firearms and ammunition, subversive documents and state forces uniforms.

Parents of 4 of the 12 rescued minors also joined the rally to express their full support while thanking the government forces for arresting the suspects who recruited their children.

It can be recalled that a 12-year old girl from La Carlota City is also among the twelve minors who were rescued by the Peace, Law Enforcement and Development Support (PLEDS) Cluster of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict 6 (RTF-ELCAC 6) through the joint elements of PNP and Philippine Army during the simultaneous implementation of Search warrants for Violation of RA 10591 at the communist-terrorist front group’s offices in Bacolod City last October 31 and in Escalante City on November 1.

The mother of the said minor decried the communist-terrorist group front leaders for enticing and dragging her daughter into illegal activities. She also called on other parents to guard and protect their children against the deceptive recruitment activities of the front groups.

Now that we have the overwhelming support of the Negrenses, we are optimistic that we can put an end to decades-long communist armed conflict. Rest assured that the government forces will not rest on their laurels to fulfill the people’s will to end insurgency in this part of the country.
