Suspected Shabu Siezed at Lasang Checkpoint

Davao City-The Task Force Davao and Davao City Police seized around P76,800 worth of suspected shabu from a Public Utility Bus passenger on Monday, August 23 in a joint AFP-PNP checkpoint operation at Lasang Checkpoint, Davao City

The authorities identified the suspect as Englebert Dalisay Canopen, 39, a resident of Purok San Roque, Sasa, this city.

Canopen was onboard a Public Utility Bus from Carmen, Davao del Norte going towards Davao City when the troops noticed suspicious gestures from the suspect that opted them to conduct thorough inspection.

Confiscated from his possession was a heat sealed plastic sachet weighing more or less 4.8 grams.

The suspect is now under the custody of Bunawan Police Station for proper filing of legal cases.

Task Force Davao Commander Colonel Darren Comia reiterated that “Illegal drugs is never welcome in Davao City”.

The TF Davao Commander also urge the public to practice the Culture of Security “May Nakita? Dapat Magsalita!” to discourage Terrorism and illegal activities in Davao City.
