PNP’s training with Army on ending insurgency yields positive results

CAMP PERALTA, Jamindan, Capiz – A concerned citizen voluntarily turned-over four (4) loss firearms to the Community Support Program (CSP) Team at 4th Maneuver Platoon, Barangay Bungsuan, Dumarao, Capiz on July 2019.

The concerned citizen whose name is withheld for security reasons yielded loss firearms including one (1) rifle, two (2) homemade calibre 38, and one (1) homemade shotgun. The aforementioned firearms were immediately turned-over to the Dumarao Police Station for proper disposition.

The CSP Team in the said barangay composed of police personnel from Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is under the operational jurisdiction of the Army’s 301st Infantry (Bayanihan) Brigade.

Prior to their deployment, they underwent two-month rigid Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) at 3 rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division’s Training School.

While undergoing the said course, they were also trained by twenty-five (25) CSP instructors from the 3ID to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge on how to address insurgency problem.

Major General Dinoh Dolina, Commander, 3ID commended the CSP Team in the said barangay and highlighted that sharing of knowledge between the Army and PNP will certainly boost the inter-agency efforts of the government security forces especially in addressing peace and security concerns in the region.

“With the massive deployment of CSP Teams, we are seeing an insurgent free Panay Island in the soonest possible time”, MGen Dolina added.

The CSP deployment is in line with the Development Support and Security Plan “KAPAYAPAAN” of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to conduct Development Support Operations, to sustain the peace, ensure security and help maintain public order to foster the foundation for economic and human development.
