Philippine Army’s Aurora 307th Aurora Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion install new Battalion Commander

BALER, Aurora-The Philippine Army’s 3rd Regional Community Defense Group (3RCDG), Army Reserve Command led by Colonel Roberto B. Sarmiento installed Maj. Marcelo Gonzales as the new commander of the 307th Community Defense Center, 3rd Regional Community Defense Group (3RCDG), Aurora Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion in a simple Change of Command Ceremony today, January 12, 2022, at Aurora Trading Center Compound, Sitio Setan, Barangay Calabuanan, Baler,Aurora.

Colonel Sarmiento presided over the ceremony as Major Edward Pineda relinquished his position to the new commander Major Gonzales.

Before his assumption, Maj. Gonzales served as the battalion executive officer and S3 Training Operation Officer chief of the ARRIBn.

He is also the school head of Rosario R. Tangson Sr. National High School at Barangay San Isidro, San Luis, Aurora, and an advanced ROTC at Mt. Carmel College sometime in 1993.

He has a Master of Arts in Educational Management (MA-EM) from Aurora State College of Technology, Barangay Zabali, Baler, Aurora, a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics (Mat-Math) NEUST, Cabanatuan City, and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) at Wesleyan – CARMA 2021.

Gonzales said that he will continue the role of the ARRIBn to provide a ready and credible reserve force for disaster response operations search and rescue missions and environmental protection.

“Let us multiply our force and have strong defense for our territory, a ready and disciplined reserve force of the country,” Gonzales said.

He also hailed Major Pineda’s service in taking the helm of the Philippine Army’s Aurora Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion in putting the reservist to greater heights.
