Peace-Building Consultative meeting benefit 30-Former Rebels of 43IB


LOPE DE VEGA, NORTHERN SAMAR, November 22, 2022 – The Army’s 43IB held a one-day peacebuilding consultative meeting with the 30-Former Rebels (FRs), initiated by the Office of the Civil-Military Operations, G7, 8th Infantry (Stormtroopers) Division, Philippine Army, at the home of the We Search Troopers in Brgy. Magsaysay, Lope de Vega, Northern Samar.

The consultative meeting aims to obtain information from the FRs on how to counter the Communist Terrorist Groups’ use of the IHL banned Anti-personnel Mines as well as contribute to the Deradicalization of FRs by discussing ideological corrections on issues and concerns used by CTG in its propaganda. The meeting includes a dialogue, social healing activities, and provision of assistance for the Former Rebels members.

Facilitators include, Captain Michael Jay A Mana, Chief Psyops Section, OG7, 8ID, Ms Alma Gabin, President of Eastern Visayas Peace Builder and Development Federation. Lieutenant Colonel Manuel B Degay Jr, extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Team of facilitators for a very successful activity. He also encouraged the FRs to continue helping in all advocacies that contribute to the Local Peace Engagement of the unit.
