NOLCOM leads Disaster Response Operations in “KARDING”-Affected Areas in Luzon.


Camp Aquino, Tarlac City – September 26, 2022

Troops of the Northern Luzon Command immediately conducted Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Operations as Typhoon Karding hit North and Central Luzon on September 25-26, 2022.

A total of 14 Search, Rescue, and Retrival (SRR) Teams are deployed all over northern region while 272 teams are on standby alert for possible HADR operations.

On September 25, 2022, one SRR Team conducted pre-emptive evacuation in four barangays of Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya; while troops from the Marine Battlion Landing Team 10 rescued four individuals who are living near the riverbanks of Sitio Reserba, Brgy. Esteves, Aurora.

Meanwhile, the Joint Task Force Kaugnay are preparing relief packs which will be distributed to the victims of typhoon Karding in Nueva Ecija and Aurora.

Evacuation and road clearing operations are being done simultaneously all over Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Tarlac and other cities affected by Typhoon Karding.

“All of our Disaster Response Teams will operate round-the-clock to guarantee the security and welfare of everyone affected. In order to expedite the delivery of relief supplies and other essential services to the communities, coordination was made with our partner agencies and various stakeholders,” said NOLCOM Commander Lt Gen Ernesto Torres Jr.
