Local Officials Planted Trees At Army Reservation in Cotabato


MAGPET, COTABATO – Army troopers led by Col Potenciano Camba, Commander of 1002nd Infantry Brigade and the Local Chief Executives of the 2nd District of Cotabato Province headed by Vice Governor Emmylou Taliño Mendoza joined together in planting fruit bearing trees at the newly donated 2 hectare lot by the LGU-Magpet that serves as an Advance Command Post of the 1002nd Infantry (Bagwis) Brigade in Sitio Estremos Poblacion, Magpet, Cotabato.

The activity was part of the Greening Program of the Philippine Army in preserving the areas entrusted by the LGUs as one of Army reservations. The activity which was initiated by the 1002nd Brigade signifies the harmonious partnership among Local Government officials within the Brigade Area of Operation in Cotabato.

The significant event was attended by the Battalion Commander of 72nd Infantry Battalion, Lt. Col Rey Alvarado; Community Defense Center Commander, 12RCDG Lt. Col Hydion Abiera Jr.; and Cong. Rudy Caoagdan, Representative of the 2nd District of Cotabato. Present also are the LCEs of 2nd District, namely: Mayor Florenito Gonzaga of Magpet; Mayor Jonathan Mahimpit of President Roxas; Mayor Joseph Evangelista of Kidapawan City, and Vice Mayor Cris Cadungon of Antipas all of Cotabato Province.

The activity was successful and ended up with a lunch at Maupot Family Resort in Magpet.
