Government successfully launch simultaneous Fulfillment of Support to Barangay Development Programs in Pres Roxas


ARAKAN, COTABATO – The Government thru the collaboration of the Provincial Government Unit of North Cotabato, Deparment of Interior and Local Government (DILG), NTF Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), Local Government of Pres Roxas and Army’s 1002nd Infantry “Bagwis” Brigade and 72nd Infantry “Gabay” Battalion, successfully launched simultaneous Ground Breaking Ceremony; Concreting of Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) of Barangay La Esperanza and Barangay New Cebu and subsequently delivered various services from the different Government Agencies thru Serbisyo Caravan held at New Cebu High School all of Pres Roxas earlier today, September 16, 2021.

The said activity is part of the Government’s sustainment effort in the implementation of Executive Order (EO) 70 in institutionalizing a “Whole of nation approach” in ending local communist armed-conflict to cleared-barangays from any affectation/influenced of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs). This is the response of the Government to the issues being exploited by the CNTs which were found out during the immersion of the Community Support Program Teams (CSPTs) in those previously affected barangays. The two (2) projects worth 13,450,000 pesos each were funded from the Local Government Support Fund – Support to the Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) initiated by the National Government. It was the first ground-breaking ceremony conducted in the Province of North Cotabato.

Meanwhile, despite the pandemic that our country is still experiencing, the Provincial Task Force ELCAC resumed its pending schedule of “Serbisyo Caravan” in Barangay New Cebu subsequently after the ceremonial Ground Breaking of “Farm-to-Market Road” of the said barangay.

Barangay New Cebu was known as one of the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas in the municipality but with the collaboration and coordination of the different line agencies from the regional, provincial level, army units and MLGU-Pres Roxas, to include other Civilian Society Organizations, the Serbisyo Caravan successfully delivered its services to the people of the said barangay.

Present during the activities were Hon. Nancy A Catamco, Governor, Province of Cotabato; Hon. Jonathan O Mahimpit, Municipal Mayor of Pres Roxas; Dir. Josephine Cabrido-Leysa, CESO III, Regional Director, DILG Region XII; Brigadier General Potenciano C Camba PA, Conmander, 1002BDE; Lieutenant Colonel Jose C Regonay Jr, Commanding Officer, 72IB; Police Major Carisma, Rep of PD Henry Villar; Provincial Heads of various Government Agencies; Barangay Captains and Officials of the two barangays; and officers and troops of 1002BDE and 72IB.

“Our Government is sincere in its commitment to totally end the insurgency by bringing the Government closer to the people. You are very much fortunate for this project will serve as an early Christmas Gift in your barangays and in the Municipality of Pres Roxas. There is no reason for anyone of you to still be blinded and fooled by the CTGs. With the collaboration of the Government Agencies, let us all achieve a peaceful and conflict-resilient Pres Roxas!” Dir. Leysa said in her message.

In response, Brigadier General Potenciano Camba expressed his gratitude to everyone who made the activity successful. “This is just the first step in attaining our ultimate objective; that is to have a just and lasting peace in our country. I am very much thankful for everyone of you for choosing to support the Government. This project is for all of you. Rest assured that your army units will continue to do its sworn duty; that is to protect the peace and order not just in Pres Roxas but in the whole North Cotabato as well.”

As the Guest of Honor and Speaker, the “Diwata ng Apo” Hon. Nancy A Catamco lauded everyone for their exceptional dedication, hardwork and commitment just to pursue these activities. “This is just the first ground breaking ceremony in North Cotabato. Thru the effort of the local officials and residents of the two barangays, these projects were realized. We, the Provincial Government will continue to reach out and deliver services to the Cotabateños. KUYOG TA! DUMAKI!” She ended.

It can be recalled that Pres Roxas has a total of 20 ELCAC barangays and will receive a total of 400M, 20M each Barangay
