Makilala, Cotabato – The Sagip Kapamilya foundation in partnership with the City Government of Digos City headed by Hon. Mayor Josef Cagas, Local Barangay officials and the 39th Infantry Battalion provided assistance and relief which brought smiles on the faces of more than 500 families of Barangay Aplaya on July 6, 2020.
As the city continuously battles Covid-19, another natural calamity tested the resiliency of the Digoseños. Over the past week, series of heavy rainfall took place in the province of Davao del Sur drastically raising water levels and impending flash floods especially in low lying flood prone areas destroying properties and homes along its path.
Guided by the initiative of the Sagip Kapamilya foundation represented by Ms Jenny Bendijo and the city government, the relief operation turned out to be a complete success where more than 500 families were provided with clean potable water and food packs.
“The city government headed by Mayor Josef Cagas will never forsake you especially in times of adversity. We thank our friends and partners – the Sagip Kapamilya foundation and our troops for their never ending support.” Mr. Gubat, Digos City Administrator said.
“The 39IB troopers will always be ready to serve any time and in any circumstance where we may be needed.” LTC Carandang, 39IB Commander said.
