FORT MAGSAYSAY, NUEVA ECIJA – The Malayang Aniban ng mga Magsasaka sa Manggang Marikit, Bagong Barrio at Yuson (MAMBAYU), a former CPP-NPA affiliated organization in Guimba, Nueva Ecija boldly expressed their condemnation against the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) during the Ceremonial Occupation of Disputed Land at Barangay Manggang Marikit, Guimba, Nueva Ecija at 09:00 in the morning, yesterday.
The MAMBAYU farmers’ organization had been a victim of the lies and deception of the CTGs for 34 years.
The 82 hectares parcel of land was distributed to Listasaka and MAMBAYU farmers’ organizations during the Ceremonial Occupation of Disputed Land headed by local government unit of Guimba, Nueva Ecija. A total of 132 farmers benefitted from the said endeavor.
Prior to the ceremony, members of MAMBAYU farmers’ organization denounced the CPP-NPA-NDF by burning their flag wherein its design was inspired by the CTGs. The farmers were fed-up from being victims of extortion activities and deception of the communists.
Members of MAMBAYU organization were required by the CTGs to pay revolutionary taxes monthly aside from their dues during harvest time. They were also required to participate in mass protests in Nueva Ecija Province and in Metro Manila. Many of the members of said organization were also recruited to join the armed struggle.
The relentless efforts of the Community Support Program (CSP) of Bravo Company of 69IB under First Lieutenant Mohammad Johaiman S Manda, Company Commander yielded significant results in Guimba. Aside from the signing of Memorandum of Compromise-Agreement between MAMBAYU and Listasaka last December 12, 2018, they also facilitated the awarding of certificates of registration to five farmers’ organizations last February 1.
Brigadier General Lenard T Agustin AFP, Acting Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division expressed his delight in the development of CSP efforts in Nueva Ecija most especially in the areas that were influenced by the CTGs.
“It is about time for the farmers and other sectors who were once deceived by the Communist Terrorists to realize that they have been victims and were used to go against the government. I call on the people in our area of responsibility to deny the entry of the CTGs in their community for they will only cause harm to your families.” BGen Agustin added.
“I take pride in having hardworking men and women under my team. I would like to assure the community that all of our efforts are for the betterment of the people’s lives” said Lieutenant Colonel Arcadio Posada, Commanding Officer of 69IB.
