Former Rebels of Kaibigan battalion receive Livelihood Kits

The Department of Trade and Industry XI- Mawab, Compostela Valley turned-over Livelihood Starter Kits to Former Rebels of 71 st Infantry (Kaibigan) Battalion on 20 November 2018 at Headquarters 71 st IB, Purok 8, Brgy. Nueva Visayas, Mawab.
Nineteen (19) Former Rebels from Mawab, Maco and Pantukan received livelihood kits for Goat and Native Chicken Raising, Sari-sari Store, and vegetable and rice production.
The Turn-over Ceremony was led by LTC ESTEVEYN E DUCUSIN INF (GSC) PA, Battalion Commander of 71 st IB and Atty. Lucky Siegfred M Balleque CESO V, DTI Provincial Director.
Prior to the distribution of starter kits, DTI in partnership with 71 st IB and other stakeholders conducted training to Former Rebels as preparation for their chosen livelihood project.
LTC DUCUSIN said that the activity is a simple manifestation that the government is sincere in its commitment in helping Former Rebels to be a better and productive citizen of the community.
“As to many projects and programs for FRs there’s no need to stay in the useless armed struggle so we urge other remaining members of Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs) to surrender”, Ducusin said.
