IMPASUGONG, BUKIDNON, July 21 – Thirty-three former rebels comfortably watched and cheered the live stream fight of Colonel Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao together with the Army troopers at Headquarters 8th Infantry Battalion, Impasugong, Bukidnon, today, July 21, 2019.

The thirty-three former rebels surrendered to the 8th Infantry “Dependable” Battalion and have been enjoying their stay inside the military camp. The local government unit of Impasugong, Bukidnon donated a 2-hectare land to till while living inside the camp. The military camp has been their home since the day they surrendered to the government.

Boxing is a favorite sport of many Filipinos especially when it involves their idol, the fighting pride of the Philippines Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. The unit initiative to pay for the pay per view with free snacks made the former rebels enjoy the show as if it is the happiest moment in their life. “Lipay kaau mi nga komportable ga lantaw sa away sa amoang idolo nga boxingero kay sukad sa una karon rami naka sinati sa pag tan-aw nga walay kahadlok ug kabalaka sa amoang palibot.” Former Rebel a.k.a Watchelei said in an interview. “Naka lukso jud ko sa kalipay pagka tumba sa kalaban sa akoang idolo,” he added.

“We want to make them happy and feel that the Dependable troopers are part of their family that they can depend on.” Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Illana, the commanding officer of the 8th Infantry, Battalion said. “They (FRs) will always be a part of our life also,” he ended.
