CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – One drug suspect was killed in an anti-drug operation on July 16 at Sitio Pamana, Barangay Poblacion, Buluan, Maguindanao.
Combined government operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM), Buluan Municipal Police, and 40th Infantry Battalion encountered with the drug suspect identified as Jethrue Mastura Tantong.
An undercover agent who acted poseur buyer bought a P1,000 worth of suspected shabu from Tantong.
When Tantong sensed that they were government operatives he immediately drew his gun and opened fire at the arresting team. This prompted the government forces to shoot back to neutralized suspect.
The suspect was immediately brought to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Seized from the suspect were 25 grams of suspected shabu with market value of P170, 000, a caliber .45 pistol, buy-bust money, cellphone, identification cards and a belt bag.
This recent accomplishment of 40th IB is part of the continuing campaign of 6th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Central against illegal drugs in support to law enforcement operation.
