BALER, Aurora – The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) was created to synchronize the utilization of the government’s instrumentalities of power with the involvement of private sector stakeholders to finally end the insurgency in the country.
In line with this, the 91st Infantry (Sinagtala) Battalion, 7ID, PA led by LTC REANDREW P RUBIO INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of this unit facilitated the awarding of agricultural starter kit to twenty-three (23) exploited local residents of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) who are now converted as members of Diaat Upland Farmers Association which was organized by 91IB and now on the process of registration with DOLE.
This activity was made possible thru the collaboration and partnership with Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maria Aurora through Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO).
The activity was attended by Hon Mayor Amado M Geneta, MAO employees, Barangay Officials, and PNP Maria Aurora held at Barangay Diaat, Maria Aurora, Aurora on 03 July 2020.
The activity was also part of the efforts of Community Support Program (CSP) of 91IB in support to the twelve (12) clusters of ELCAC specifically Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) to address and to resolve the issues being exploited by CTGs and in clearing affected areas within the unit’s Area of Operations.
The agricultural starter kit that have been given to the members of Diaat Upland Farmers Association is worth of Php15,000.00 and there will be additional Php25,000.00 from LGU Maria Aurora, Aurora to be released next week.
“This activity symbolizes the government’s initiative and its willingness to extend its services in the far-flung Barangays to uplift their plight and become productive members of society. Rest assured that our unit will continue to collaborate with the LGUs and other government agencies through livelihood opportunities as this is one of the priority programs of the national government,” RUBIO said.
Likewise, Mayor Geneta also expressed his gratitude to the SINAGTALA troopers for the commitment and services extended in his municipality in pursuit to lasting peace and development.
“I urged those NPA bandits to surface and avail the ECLIP and different services of the government and be reunited with their loved ones,” Geneta, said.
Meanwhile, BGEN ANDREW D COSTELO PA, Commander, 703rd Infantry Brigade, 71D, PA commended the 91IB for organizing the farmers and facilitating its livelihood assistance.
“Let us closely collaborate with other agencies of the government in bringing the government closer to the people,” COSTELO said.
