Department of Environment and Natural Resources commends 75th Infantry Battalion Anti- Illegal Logging efforts

BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur- Camp Jaime N Ferrer Sr, Brgy Maharlika, Bislig City (Stn) – The 75th Infantry (Marauder) Battalion, 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division received a commendation during the Awarding
Ceremony for Environmental Partners at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Learning Center, Ambago, Butuan City last June 10, 2019.

The DENR – CARAGA headed by Atty Felix S Alicer, Regional Executive Director awarded the commendation to LTC Jamie R Datuin, Commander 75th IB, in grateful recognition and sincere appreciation of the dynamic support extended by the Bn to the DENR- Caraga in the stringent implementation of Executive order No. 23.

Atty. Alicer said, “The active involvement and collaborative efforts of the 75IB and Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force (AILTF) of the DENR in executing environmental and forest protection in its Area of Operation (AO) resulted to the apprehension/ seizure of a total 4,499.99 board feet illegally cut assorted logs in nine (9) different incidents.”

LTC Datuin said, “The implementation of Executive Number 23 is instrumental in our continuing campaign against Anti-Illegal Logging not only for the protection of the environment but also for the next generation. As part of our mandate, I can assure you that your 75IB will always be rough-and-ready in the enforcement activities to prevent the cutting of trees and preserve the forest and other natural resources in our area.”

Colonel Allan D Hambala, Commander 401st Bde, lauded the readiness of the Marauder troopers to assist the DENR, “Your collaboration and support to DENR to ensure the protection of our natural resources is highly commendable. Let us continue to fight not only against terrorists who threatens the peaceful lives of our people but also against illegal loggers who threatens to destroy our forest.”
