Commander, 7ID Ensures all Kaugnay Troopers Ready to Perform Mandate

FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division visited the 702nd Infantry Brigade today at Camp Tito B Abat, Manaoag, Pangasinan.

With the aim of checking on the preparedness of the Kaugnay troops in relation to the coming National Midterm Elections, the Commander, 7ID, Major General Lenard T. Agustin, has scheduled visits in all battalions and brigades of the 7ID.

Aside from ensuring that the troops are ready for all election-concerned duties, MGen. Agustin also checks on updates on the activities of Joint Task Force (JTF) Kaugnay.

JTF Kaugnay unifies the efforts at various levels of the government to attain a strategic stakeholder’s convergence that addresses the security concerns of communities under the area of responsibility (AOR) of the 7ID. It also capacitates stakeholders to play a role in peace and development to create conflict resilient and developed communities, in line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s “Whole of Nation Approach”.

MGen. Agustin had already visited the 703rd Brigade last April 29, 2019 at Brgy. Calaanan, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija. He will also be visiting other camps to solidify and strengthen the action plan of the 7ID towards helping the people and communities attain peace and development.

“Aside from ensuring a peaceful and orderly election, we must see to it that throughout the year, our people will not be subject to any threats that communists terrorist groups (CTGs) are posing. Our focus remains on maintaining the fast decline of CTGs in our area and convincing them to surrender, even though right now, we put equal importance on guaranteeing that the people’s right to vote will be exercised without fear,” said MGen. Agustin.
