 CAMP MONTECLARO ,Miagao, Iloilo– On Thursday, November 14, 2019 marks a very significant day for Bingawan town as the municipality creates the Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF ELCAC) and subsequently declares the Communist NPA Terrorist as Persona Non Grata held at the Municipal Hall, Bingawan, Iloilo.

An assembly of LGU key leaders, LGAs, 61IB, PNP, CSOs, reservists and students were able to witness the signing of EO Nr 66 creating MTF ELCAC which supports the “Whole of Nation” approach of the government in addressing insurgency.

Resolution Nr 02 Series of 2019 declaring the CNTs as Persona Non Grata was also highlighted during the Peace Covenant Signing presided by Hon. Mark Palabrica, Municipal Mayor of Bingawan.

The activity was participated by Board Member Matt Palabrica, NICA,PNP, MLGOO Ms Jennifer Sabio, Municipal and Barangay Officials, Religious Sector and DepEd representative, BIR, BFP, students and Civil Society Organizations.

In the morning, the local populace of Bingawan and Stakeholders participated in a Walk for Peace around the town.

Ltc Joel Benedict G Batara, Commanding Officer of 61IB lauded the efforts of the people of Bingawan and the MTF-ELCAC for making a strong and solid stand in condemning the Communist NPA Terrorists.

 ‘’ I am commending the Bingawan people as well as the members of the MTF-ELCAC who made this activity a success,’’ he said. “Let us continue to work hand in hand for peace and development not only in this municipality but to the whole Panay Island. We are thankful and glad to the people of Bingawan for showing a united effort and having a leader with a consistent and strong political will to address insurgency.” Ltc Batara added.
