Camp Jaime N Ferrer Sr, Brgy Maharlika, Bislig City (Stn) – A group of Day Care pupils of Brgy Tabon, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur conducted visitation/tour at Headquarters 75th Infantry (Marauder) Battalion, 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division Philippine Army on Monday, January 27, 2020.

The visit of the pupils was made possible through the coordinated effort of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) of Bislig City, SDS, led by Ms. Ligaya C. Yatar, DCW II/Cluster 2 Head together with Ms. Judith Elisan and Ms. Maria Gallarpo, Teachers of the Cluster 2 Day Care Children.

The one (1) hour tour started with the orientation to the pupils, parents, and guardians conducted by Sgt Michel Diamos, Public Affairs Non-Commissioned Officer of 75IB. Then, they observed the demonstration of basic assembly and disassembly of various firearms used by the Philippine Army.

Further, Second Lieutenant Jezreel L Bajar, Assistant Civil-Military Operations Officer of 75IB, uttered her gratitude to the parents who accompanied their children during the tour and imparted impressions to children on what and who the soldiers are. “To the parents, mold your children as a selfless person, a responsible citizen, and God-fearing that will love and protect our nation. Guide them and don’t let other people to influence them to do things that will ruin themselves.” 2Lt Bajar said.

The tour conducted by the Day Care Pupils at Headquarters 75IB will contribute to the awareness of the children and guardians regarding local and national establishments and its contributions and functions to the nation-building. Further, it will envision them what they become in the future.

Thus, Lieutenant Colonel Warren C Munda, Commanding Officer of 75IB, expressed his appreciation to the pupils, teachers, and parents for visiting the camp. “Instill it to the mind of your children that soldiers are the modern heroes and could serve as inspiration to others. Tell them what the soldiers do to our nation that is to serve the people and secure the land for the country to be peaceful and well – developed.” Lt. Col. Munda stated.
