CAMP PERALTA, Jamindan, Capiz – At least fifty (50) bags of blood were donated by the Army soldiers in Panay in a two separate bloodletting activity in Iloilo City as part of the campaign versus dengue.

On August 14, the 301st Infantry (Bayanihan) Brigade, 61 st Infantry (Hunter) Battalion, and 6 th Regional Community Defense Group (6RCDG) participated in Iloilo City’s sponsored bloodletting activity in partnership with Philippine National Red Cross and Western Visayas Medical Center at Plaza Libertad.

The same activity was conducted by the Office of Student Services, St. Therese MTC Colleges – Magdalo in collaboration with the Army’s 53rd Engineering Brigade and Philippine National Red Cross at Magdalo Street, La Paz, Iloilo City on August 15.

Said bloodletting activities intend to ensure adequate supply of blood available for patients suffering from mosquito-borne disease and those in need.

Both activity was flooded by overwhelming support and participation from the different sectors of the society specifically government security forces, government employees, barangay officials, bar owners, youth organization, and students.

MGen Dinoh Dolina, the Commander of the Army’s 3 rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division said, “As your Army in Panay, you can always count on us especially in difficult times where our people need us most. We understand that convergence of efforts is vital to prevent the killer disease from harming more people; hence, we are always ready to
commit our medical and material resources to augment any effort against dengue.”
