CAMP MAJ GERONA, Murcia, Negros Occidental – “Shut up and stop your lies!” COL BENEDICT AREVALO, 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander said to the CPP-NPA Terrorists and the NPA Terrorists supporter – KARAPATAN for this time pointing the blame to the RPA and SCAA. “First, you blamed the AFP and PNP, then the landlord and the lessee, and now the RPA and SCAA. Who’s next?” Arevalo asked.
“Definitely it’s not the RPA and the SCAA as mentioned by Frank Fernandez- Head of the CPP-NPA Terrorist Group in Negros. The CPP-NPA and Karapatan is using their usual deceptive scheme by fabricating false information and telling lies to cover up their faults and blame their terroristic activities to the government or whoever they want. If they really are for the truth, why did Atty. Panguban of National Union of Pilipino Lawyers (NUPL) and NPA Terrorists supporter – KARAPATAN took the custody of the 14-year-old witness from the DSWD and bring him to hiding? They deceived the mother of the boy just to get his custody from DSWD and keep him away from the authorities to avoid telling what really happened. Now who is hiding the truth? We will not even be surprised that if the child will come out, he will be saying a different tune, as he is being detained for 9 days now. Anything is possible as Karapatan is known for distorting the truth“. Arevalo added.
Atty. Panguban and Karapatan tried to take custody of the minor when two individuals pretended to be the minor’s grandparents in an attempt to claim him from the Police Station. After their initial attempt failed, the group returned with the minor’s mother and was then turned-over, however, the removal from the police custody was without the father’s consent. Kidnapping and serious illegal detention was already filed by Vic E Pedoso, father of the witness against Atty. Panguban.
Arevalo further said, “Just release the minor. He is a witness. He is the one who can identify the NPAs are the perpetrators of the crime. He is the only one who can reveal what really happened. He gave a vital statement to the PNP, and at the time, he was not under the custody or influence of anyone who may prevent him from speaking the truth. You can blame whoever you want. But speaking in behalf of the army here in Negros, I say, bring out the 14-year-old witness!”.
Using the old cliché, Arevalo also said to the CPP-NPA and Karapatan “SA PRESINTO NALANG KAYO MAGPALIWANAG DAHIL MARAMI KAYONG DAPAT IPALIWANAG SA BATAS AT SA TAONG BAYAN!.”
