Army discovers NPA arms cache


Makilala, Cotabato – Terrorist NPA arms cache was discovered by troops of 39th Infantry Battalion last October 16, 2018 7 o’clock in the morning at Purok 6, Brgy Batasan, Makilala, Cotabato, a month after an encounter at same Barangay where in Jacob Rodinas alias Jecko, Secretary of GF51, was killed.

A concerned citizen reported to 39IB troops about the unpleasant presence of NPA Terrorists in their place. Troops then responded to the report and conducted combat patrol for validation.

The operation which was carried early 4:30 in the morning same day, yielded three high powered firearms, an improvised grenade, an IED claymore mine and an NPA flag.

Lieutenant Colonel Rhojun P Rosales, 39IB Commander, expressed his appreciation to the support of the communities and encourage them to continue to be part in maintaining peace and said, “we appreciate the people’s concern on security. Let us work together in securing peace and progress”, Lieutenant Colonel Rosales said.

On the other hand, Brigadier General Roberto T Ancan, 1002nd Brigade Commander, expressed his gratitude to all the concerned citizens who continuously report the nuisance of NPA Terrorists.

“1002nd Brigade expresses our deepest thanks to the citizens who undeniably contribute to peace in the community. It is a clear manifestation of your commitment to help our campaign for peace. The Brigade is always here to protect the people as we journey towards peace.” Brigadier General Ancan said.
