BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur-Camp Jaime N Ferrer Sr, Brgy Maharlika, Bislig City (Stn) – The Charlie “Cyborgs” Company of 75th Infantry “Marauder” Battalion, City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Bunawan conducted retrieval operation of the abandoned illegally cut wood at Sitio (So) Tagabaka, Barangay San Andres, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur on Wednesday, October 09, 2019.

The impounded wood flitches were identified as Lawaan in four hundred seventy (470) pieces with a total volume of six thousand eighty-one (6,081) board feet with an estimated amount of one hundred fifty-two thousand twenty-five pesos (Php 152,025.00) and was brought to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) outpost in Bunawan, ADS for proper documentation and safekeeping.

The retrieval operation of the abandoned illegally cut wood of Lawaan were conducted under the stakeout of First Lieutenant Begie P De Jesus, Commanding Officer of Charlie “Cyborg” Company, 75IB under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel
Warren C Munda, Commanding Officer of 75IB together with the team of CENRO Bunawan led by Mr. Virgilio A Rivera.

Mr. Rivera of CENRO Bunawan expressed his gratitude to the 75IB for the coordination and assistance retrieving those illegally cut wood flitches.

Lt. Col Warren C Munda, Commanding Officer of 75IB fully support the CENRO/DENR on the campaign against illegal logging that is prevalent in unit Area of Responsibility. “Our mother nature will bring it all back by protecting us to any calamity, climate change, and floods as we give importance to nature. Illegal loggers, you too are responsible for conserving our forest. Better quit and let’s preserve, sustain our environment and nature, as it will also protect us to any inevitable catastrophe.” Lt. Col. Munda said.
