ACDI Butuan, AFP, PNP conduct joint balik eskwela program

Buenavista, Agusan del Norte— The 23rd Infantry Battalion of 402nd Infantry Brigade in partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and ACDI Butuan Branch distributed school supplies to the pupils of Elpedio Salas Elementary School, Barangay Rojales, Carmen, Agusan del Norte yesterday, May 24, 2019.

The Balik-Eskwela Program with the theme: “Tara na, Mag-aral na Tayo” highlighted the distribution of school supplies and slippers, porridge feeding, free ice cream, arrozcaldo, other snacks and free haircut in preparation for the opening of School Year ‎2019-2020. Also, the 23IB Masigasig Band rendered songs while personnel of 4th Civil Military Operation Battalion entertained the participants through magic show. A total of One Hundred Ten (110) pupils of Elpedio Salas Elementary School benefited from the said activity.

The activity was made possible through the convergence of effort of the 23rd Infantry (Masigasig) Battalion headed by LTC FRANCISCO L MOLINA JR, 23IB Commanding Officer, 23IB thru its Alpha Company Commander, 2LT JOEY OLAGUER, Philippine National Police headed by PCPT JEFFERSON E REYES, Company Commander, 1304th Maneuver Company, RMFB 13, ACDI Butuan headed by Ms Michelle Sajonia, Branch Head, ACDI Butuan Branch, Barangay Council headed by Hon Ricardo C Lauro, Punong Barangay of Barangay Rojales, Carmen, Agusan del Norte and the Faculty and Staff of Elpedio Elementary School headed by Mr. Ramerad Noeh B Autor, School Principal. Also present during the said activity were the Youth Leaders of the Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) graduates, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Eagles Fraternal Brotherhood, Municipal Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, parents and other key stakeholders.

Moreover, the beneficiaries and their parents extended their heartfelt gratitude for the school supplies and other services rendered to them.

Barangay Rojales, Carmen, ADN is considered as one of the CPP-NPA Terrorist (CNT) haven since the late Ricardo Ampan Manili @Joker, a notorious commander of the New People’s Army (NPA) who live in the said barangay and the main reason why development have not come in the area.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Francisco L Molina Jr, 23IB Commander, encouraged the parents and the teachers to mold the pupils as in their hand lies the future of this country “Altogether, working towards one goal of making our country progressive, can be attained through the future of our children.” Lt Col Molina added.

“We support the DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela. It is our commitment to value the importance of the children in the pursuit of peace and development. With the partnerships of the Army, PNP and stakeholders, it is indicative of the high level of awareness of each agencies to contribute to the permanent closure of conflict in this part of the region”.
