75th Infantry Battalion celebrates 121st Independence Day with community

BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur- Camp Jaime N Ferrer Sr, Brgy Maharlika, Bislig City (Stn) –The 75th Infantry “Marauder” Battalion joined
the nation in celebrating the 121st anniversary of our freedom together with the peace-loving people of Bislig City today, June 12, 2019.

This year’s celebration of Independence Day with the theme “Kalayaan
2019: Tapang ng Bayan, Malasakit sa Mamamayan” began with the playing of “MUSIKALAYAAN” initiated by the 75th IB Band at the Gaisano Capital, Bislig City where hundreds of people came to witness
and participate.

It was followed by the Information Drive through the Recruitment Booth manned by the Marauder lady soldiers which aimed to
disseminate to the people of Bislig how to join the military service.

The activity also showcased the 75IB Army Rifle Squad Demonstration to present the capability of the Philippine Army in defending
its sovereignty, photo display which showed the heroism and accomplishment of the unit and the whole organization and audio-visual presentations about the Marawi Siege to honor our Marawi heroes who sacrificed their lives in order to save and protect the people.

Lt Col Jaime R Datuin, Commander 75IB, said “As we celebrate the 121st Independence day, it also serves as renewal of commitment of every soldier to continue fulfilling its mandate in serving the people and securing the land.”

For his part, Col Allan D Hambala, Commander 401st Bde, said “We thank the peace-loving people of CARAGA Region for celebrating with us this day which honors the sacrifices of our ancestors and our soldiers. Let us all continue to uphold the freedom we have today.”
