6th Infantry Division troops join local absentee voting


CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao – Around 539 soldiers of 6th Infantry Division participated here in the Local Absentee Voting today (April 29, 2019) for the May 13 midterm election.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) officially opens today the three-day local absentee voting, which will be held to the different areas authorized by the COMELEC.The members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines are authorized by the COMELEC to perform the local absentee voting as most of them will perform election-related duties and are assigned in areas where they are not registered to vote.

As of today, a total 539 out of 1, 065 have casted their vote.
“I encourage all the 6th ID personnel who had file for local absentee voting applications to exercise their right to suffrage as this is one of their duties for the country,” 6th Infantry Division Commander Maj. Gen. Cirilito E. Sobejana said.
