47 members of KADAMAY Withdraw their Support to the Communist Terrorist Group in Bulacan.


FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija โ€“ During the withdrawal of support of 47 members of the Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (KADAMAY) to the communist Terrorist Group (CTG), the 70th Infantry (Matapat at Matatag) Battalion and 703rd Infantry (Agila) Brigade provided manpower and security assistance on September 16, 2022 at Barangay Siling, Bata, Pandi, Bulacan.

The withdrawal of support was made possible with the help of Bulacan Provincial Police Office; National Intelligence Coordinating Agency-Region 3; Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Region 3; 1st Civil Relations Group, Civil Relations Service of Armed Forces of the Philippines; Department of Labor and Employment-Region 3; Cooperative Development Authority-Bulacan, Department Trade, and Industry; Local government unit (LGU) of Pandi, Bulacan; and Office of the President Adviser on the Peace Reconciliation and Unity.

The former KADAMAY members will be joining the SAMAKKA, a security and Exchange Commission (SEC) registered association organized for former members of the KADAMAY. Currently managing 500,000 pesos worth of water refilling station established through government intervention situated at Villa Lois, Pandi, Bulacan.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Ronnel B Dela Cruz, Commanding Officer of 70th IB gave his message about the withdrawal of KADAMAY members and CTG, โ€œThe withdrawal of support of the 47 members of KADAMAY is an obvious sign that the CTG is slowly incapacitating their force to the community, all their promises to the urban poor organization are only an approach to recruit the populace to fight against the government for their wrong ideology. To the remaining members of KADAMAY and other mass supporters, itโ€™s not too late to withdraw your support to CTG.

During the activity, participants took an oath of allegiance to the government and conducted the ceremonial burning of the CTG flag and KADAMAY Flag, which was witnessed by the 70IB, 703Bde, LGU of Pandi, Bulacan, barangay officials of Barangay Siling Bata, and officials from Local Government Agencies LGA) under the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC).

Moreover, Major General Andrew D Costelo, Commanding Officer of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division expressed his utmost gratitude to the former supporters of the CTG for withdrawing their support, โ€œIt has a big impact on ending local armed conflict, it will weaken the rebel force because they have now limited resources given and limited place to move in.โ€
