4,243 children in Maguindanao & Cotabato City received gifts from GMA Kapuso Foundation

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – Sixteen schools from Maguindanao and Cotabato City have benefited from GMA Kapuso Foundation’s annual gift giving project dubbed as “Give-a-Gift Alay sa Batang Pinoy.”

The project is a yearly activity of the GMA Kapuso Foundation to celebrate Christmas Season by giving Noche Buena packages to the underprivileged children from Kindergarten to Grade 6 pupils in selected schools nationwide.

The GMA Kapuso Foundation partnered with the Joint Task Force Central to realize their endeavour to give gifts to the selected public schools of Maguindanao and Cotabato City thru the different units under the JTFC.

The 90th Infantry Battalion distributed packages to 1,010 pupils of Gadungan Elementary School and Bagan Elementary School in Talitay and Guindulungan, respectively, from Maguindanao province.

Around 900 pupils from Barurau Elementary School, Paldong Elementary School, Papakan Elementary School, and Gadungan Elementary School in Sultan Sa Barongis, Maguindanao received packages distributed by 33rd Infantry Battalion.

Seven schools in Pagalungan, Maguindanao also received gifts distributed by 7th Infantry Battalion, namely: Inug-ug Elementary School, Dataya Elementary School, Upper Bagoenged Elementary School, Buliok Elementary School, Sapakan Elementary School, Kalbugan Elementary School, and Balungis Elementary School. A total of 1,515 pupils have benefited from the activity.

Task Force Kutawato distributed goods in Cotabato City at Timako Elementary School and PC Hill Elementary School  that benefited 618 pupils .

Lastly, the 6th CMO Battalion gave packages to 200 pupils of Mandanas Elementary School in Cotabato City.

“The Joint Task Force Central has always been a willing partner of GMA Kapuso Foundation in the convergence of efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to the people in dire needs especially to the children as the beneficiaries of this project,” said JTF Central and 6ID Commander Maj. Gen. Diosdado C. Carreon.

The Commander also commended and expressed his gratitude to GMA Kapuso Foundation for their generosity to reach this part of Mindanao to give gifts to the underprivileged children.
