CAMP PERALTA, Jamindan, Capiz – The 3rd Infantry ‘Spearhead’ Division joined the simultaneous bike for a cause that aims to seek justice for the murder of Far Eastern University football player Keith Absalon.
On July 17, 2021, Spearhead Division and member agencies of Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC) gathered to participate in the said activity spearheaded by Jamindan Municipal Police Station.
To recall, Absalon, 21, and his 40-year-old cousin, Nolven, died after an NPA anti-personnel mine exploded while cycling in Purok 4, Barangay Anas, Masbate City June 6.
Aside from the biking event, the participants also conducted Interfaith Prayer and Candle Lighting in memory of all innocent civilians killed by the NPAs.
In his statement, Major General Eric C Vinoya, Commander, 3ID, thanked the organizers for facilitating the said activity that serves as a venue not only for government forces but also for peace-loving people of the region to unite in call for justice not only for Absalon but also for all innocent victims of NPA’s cruelty.
“The fate of two innocent individuals and other civilian victims is another wake-up call to everyone to reject whatever support they give to the CPP-NPA. Let us join hand-in-hand in finding ways to bring these criminals to justice and finally put an end to their violence and terrorism,” said Major General Vinoya.
