TAGO, Surigao del Sur, July 29 – The Army 36 th Infantry (Valor) Battalion (36IB) conducts a coastal clean-up in Tago Coastal road Sunday, July 28 2019 as part of the week-long celebration of its 45 th founding anniversary.

Soldiers of 36IB headed by Ltc Xerxes Trinidad, Commander, 36IB, Philippine Army, with Mrs. Nelsan Luna, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) Tago, led the coastal clean-up at the Tago coastal road, Brgy La purisima, Tago, this province.

In partnership with the DENR, 36IB personnel came to participate in the clean-up of Tago Coastal road which is a 2km stretch coast line that by-pass the center town of Tago.

The Local Government unit of Tago, Tago Pacific Eagles Club, POINTY inc., Department Environment Natural Resources Office (Tago), Tago Municipal Police station, also participated and showed their support for the coastal-clean up drive.

In his statement, Ltc Xerxes Trinidad, Commander, 36IB, lauded everyone for joining the coastal clean-up activity together with the various sectors of the society.

“Our shared effort in restoring and preserving the coastline in bringing back its good health is a simple gesture of our love of nature and the environment,” Army official said.

The Army opted to conduct this activity in support to the government’s campaign to help preserve and protect the environment which has a huge impact in the nation’s quest to promote sustainable national development.
