BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur- Camp Jaime N Ferrer Sr, Brgy Maharlika, Bislig City (Stn) – The Army troopers in Bislig won amateur boxing during the 60th Araw ng Bunawan and 17th Haw-an Festival in Agusan del Sur last June 20, 2019.
All three (3) participants coming from the 75th Infantry (Marauder) Battalion for the amateur boxing won the coveted titles which was initiated by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bunawan.
Headlining the event are the boxing matches between the Philippine National Police (PNP), 1303rd Maneuver Company, Regional Force Maneuver Battalion and the Army’s 75IB which built camaraderie among the uniformed personnel assigned in the area.
Bunawan Mayor Edwin G Elorde said, “The participation of the PNP and Philippine Army in our prestigious celebration thru boxing competition added more delight and entertainment to our commemoration.”
On the other hand, Lt. Col. Jaime R Datuin, Commander of the 75th Infantry Battalion also said, “Our goal unto this activity is not only to win the match but to show to the public that we are one with the local residents in the area. We thank the LGU for initiating this activity which gave the military and security personnel a chance to promote oneness between the law enforcement agencies in Bunawan.”
“It is a high time for us Filipinos to be festive and to show unity aimed for the common good and for the future of our young generation”, LTC Datuin added.
