He immediately proceeded to Linaga Police Station to report the incident and was brought to the hospital by the police. Police are still conducting investigation on the incident.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Mario G Lacurom, Acting Commander of 10ID condemns the act of NPAs against the IP leader Datu Bucales. “We condemn to the strongest word possible this deceitful act by NPAs to our brother IPs specially their leader that denounces the atrocities made by NPA terrorists and its allied organizations. It is in desperation that the NPAs did this to the IPs,” he said.
“It can be recalled that Datu Jumar Bucales is an advocate of peace and condemned the acts of NPAs and its allied organizations bringing lumads in rallies as far as in Manila. As a Tribal leader he is passionately involved in protecting his tribe’s ancestral domain with the support of the Local Government Unit of Lianga. Recently, he personally asked help to President Duterte against the exploitation by supposed rights groups and terrorism brought about by the NPAs. Likewise, 10ID and the people in our area of responsibility supports the IP and its leaders in protecting their ancestral domain. We also encourage everyone to protect our brothers and sister IP and its leaders from CPP-NPA terrorists’ exploitation and harassment.”
“IPs were already enlighten and with this they will never be deceived by the CNTs to turn their back away from the government considering the support and assistance the national and local government is giving to them to uplift their well-being and capacitate them to govern themselves as a responsible and productive members of the community/society.” BGen Lacurom emphasized.
